Beautiful baby Drew

I am sooo far behind on my blogging...l need to try to make a New Years resolution to make a post at least once a week! Just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get done all the things I would like to!
I wanted to share the photos I took at the hospital the day after baby Drew was born into Ashley and Joe's beautiful family. I don't know why, but I want to cry every time I photograph one of these newborns. They are so beautiful, and every one is such a miracle.
My Mom was in town visiting that day, and came with me to help on the shoot. It was fun to take her along and show her how cool my job is! She was more impressed with Ashley's doctor who came in and chatted a while. She said she wished she had doctors like that when she was having babies! Congratualtions Ashley and Joe...I can't wait to photograph your family again!

Veteran's Day

It was a warm sunny day here on the Gulf Coast, and a perfect day for a parade. We drove downtown Mobile to watch my nephew Mike march in the annual Veterans day parade. Being the wife of a military man for a little over 20 years now, I had great admiration and pride watching all the young men and women who proudly serve our country march past us. I read a bumper sticker on the way to the parade that said... If you can't stand behind our troops, then stand in front of them...It brought to mind 2 young men I know on their way to Iraq. I pray that they will return safely, and thank them and all the soldiers of the armed forces (My husband and nephews included) for risking their lives for the benefit of the people of our country.
And thanks Mike for letting me have a blast playing "paparazzi" today and letting Austin and I "stalk" you on the parade route! You were a good sport and only cracked a smile once!

My son Austin took this shot... he just might make a great assistant!

The Azalea Trail Maids of Mobile...Can't imagine how they walk miles in those dresses!
My son Austin and nephew Mike strikin' a pose for me!

Hannah is one!

I photographed this sweet little girl in the hospital when she was only one day old. Now here it is a year later...and she is having her first birthday! I'm not sure if the time went by as quickly for her parents as it did for me, but I feel priviledged to document this special milestone. I LOVED watching Hannah run around in the adorable tutu that her Mom made for her. She wanted to explore everything, and I tried my best to keep up! She wasn't too crazy about the birthday hat we tried to place on her head, but the birthday cake...that was a different story! She had cake smashed in her fingers, toes and hair...it was a crack-up! Happy First Birthday Hannah!
